November in Montecito. The weekend opened at Lucky’s with martinis and steak frites. The next day, lavender, garden paths, and sunlit stone cottages at the Ranch. High-neck lace and a cathedral veil. Candlelit dinner at the Stonehouse, a Diet Coke bar, and a bubble exit into the night.

East Coast meets West Coast. A vintage Rolls-Royce. A string trio that included the bride’s violin teacher of ten years. Marla in Lihi Hod, finished with an Elie Saab topper and veil, a look built on contrast. Scott in a custom Jhoanna Alba tux, their story sewn into the lining. His black Santonis arrived in neon orange, the exact shade of her father’s Omega watch band. They kept them. Her ring survived the Palisades Fire before it ever reached her hand. And the night ended where it should, in a speakeasy.

Hurricane Marie arrived the morning Shannon and Ed married. The ceremony moved from the terracotta patio into the estate’s two-story foyer, guests filling the floor and lining the balcony above. The day itself was deeply LA, built on both of their families. A red cheongsam for the lion dance. Jade passed down from her mother and grandmother. A menu that put Chinese and Mexican heritage on the same table. Every frame composed around who they are.

We started with who Dayna and Nick are. Classic taste, a love of old-world places, and a vintage car Dayna had in mind from the start. Then we built the shoot around it. Sunstone Villa, for stone walls that read as Tuscany. A vintage Mercedes on gravel roads. Two looks, styled like a lookbook: cream knits for golden hour, silk and a tailored blazer for dusk. Every location and every look, chosen on purpose. And when the light was gone, we kept shooting on 35mm, flash on.
